MOISES ENGHELBERG (Z"L) (LEFT) AND CHIEF RABBI MOSHE ROSEN (Z"L) (RIGHT), IN A PICTURE DATED SUMMER 1983, DURING AN OFFICIAL VISIT AT THE LAST FUNCTIONING SYNAGOGUE IN THE CITY OF MOINESTI, ON THE TUDOR VLADIMIRESCU STREET.

BEFORE WWII THERE WERE 3 BIG TEMPLES OPERATING IN MOINESTI AND SOME OTHER 16 SMALL SYNAGOGUES [HOME SHILS], AROUND THE CITY AND THE SURROUNDING BORROWS. [DRAGA ENGHELBERG]

TODAY, ONLY MR. RAFAEL (LULU) KOHLENBERG, THE ACTUAL PRESIDENT, IS THE ONLY JEWISH PERSON RESIDING IN MOINESTI.

IMPORTANT NOTE: for more than 5 years, from 1998 until emigration to Israel, in December 1983, Moises Enghelberg [Z'L] was the sole caretaker of the MJC (Moinesti Jewish Cemetery). He was passionately petitioning and lobbying the Bacau Jewish Community, Romanian Jewish Community, Rabbi Moses Rozen and some members of the US Senate for funds in order to save and preserve the MOINESTI Jewish Cemetery. SOME CONSERVATION WORKS WERE DONE WITH PRIVATE FUNDS OF MOISES ENGHELBERG. NOW WE HAVE TO CONTINUE THIS REMARKABLE WORK!
